Quincy, FL to Crawfordville, FL

4/28/18

We left Quincy this morning at 7:40. It was 55 degrees with a slight tailwind.  We rode down the road at a good pace and stopped at our first SAG stop at 13 miles.  At 18 miles we entered the Apalachiola National Forest. They were conducting some controlled burns which made it smokey as we rode. At 34 miles we went off route to go to the Edward Ball Wakulla Springs State Park. This was well worth the extra 11 miles it added to our 48 mile day.  We took a boat tour on the Wakulla River and got to see Manatees, Alligators and many types of birds.  It is a definite stop if you ever come through this way.  After the tour we all ate lunch in the Lodge Restaurant. When we left to head to Crawfordville we had 18 miles to ride. The temperature was in the low 80's when I pulled into the Magnuson Hotel parking lot right before 3:00.
we have been so fortunate with the weather this year. Last year the temperature was 20 degrees hotter.

Only 4 more days until we complete our journey!
