Hammond, LA to Bogalusa, LA
4/19/18
Today was 57 miles to Bogalusa. We left at 8 to back track a few miles to get out of the city. The roads were some light rolling hills and flats for the entire route. The tree lined roads had shade over us for most the day. The temperature got to 78 degrees. Our first SAG was at 22 miles. We stopped at a store called the Cranky Corner. Eventually everyone was there at the same time which rarely happens so we took a group picture. Our next SAG stop was at 38 miles. The SAG driver escorted us across a bridge that didn't have a shoulder. Trudy, Shelli and I stopped at a Dollar store and bought sidewalk chalk. We wrote message on the road for the other Woman Tours' ladies to see as they rode by. Enjoy your journey, Biking makes you happy and Life is good were just a few. We arrived at the motel at 12:30. We checked in and then rode our bikes to the House of Seafood restaurant. We lined our bikes up outside and went in to order. A local young man suggested that we not leave our bikes unattended outside. So we went outside to wait for our food and sat on the sidewalk near our bikes to eat it. We rode back to the motel and showered, washed clothes and sat around waiting for supper. Tonight is our last night in Louisiana.
Total Miles: 2392
Flats: 4
Ruined Tires: 1
