Crestview, FL to Marianna, FL

4/26/18

Today I rode my last 90 miler for this tour. The next 6 rides will all be less than that. It was such a great ride today. I would never have thought that 91 miles would be as easy as it was today.  Most of those miles were on US-90 E. The road was smooth and had a clean, wide shoulder. The 2000 ft of climb wasn't bad. We had a tail/cross wind that help push me down the road at an average of 15.5 mph. I left Crestview at 6:45 and got into Marianna at 1:20.
Our SAG stops were at 19, 41, 58 and 76 miles. I was ahead of the SAG so I didn't see the last SAG stop. What I use to fuel a 90 mile ride is a little different now then at the beginning. When we were climbing out west I ate way more calories to fuel my ride. Today I ate scrambled eggs, yogurt and coffee with protein in it for breakfast. At the first SAG I had a kiwi and an organic energy bar. At the second SAG I had watermelon, grapes, seasoned popcorn and 2 fig newtons. At the third SAG I had a cup of chocolate milk. Since I was at the 4th SAG stop before it was there I pulled my snack table zip lock bag out of my jersey pocket and snacked on it. It was filled with nuts, dates, dried apples and dried mangoes. When I got in Shelli and I went to eat lunch. I had a half rack of baby back ribs, coleslaw and mac and cheese. We will have supper at 6:00 to refuel for tomorrow.

The end of this journey is in sight! Only 6 more days!
