Cleveland, TX to Silsbee, TX

4/13/18

We left Cleveland at 7:00 this morning trying to beat the thunderstorm.  It was 71 degrees when we left. We had 63 miles to Silsbee.  The SAG stops were at 24 miles and again at 46 miles.  In between it was miles of tree lined roads.  The wind was blowing 15-20 mph.  We rushed to get the riding done for the day so we wouldn't get caught in a thunderstorm.  Rain is fine to ride in but if there is lightning the guides would pull us off the roads for our safety. The only rain we ended up getting was a mist. The day was filled with the smell of rain, fresh cut pine trees and honeysuckles along the roadside.  I arrived at the motel at 11:45.
This is our last night in Texas! It is a beautiful state! Nothing like I thought it would look like. There are so many trees here! Texas takes up 20 days of our 56 day ride. It is one BIG state!
