Austin, TX to Bastrop, TX
4/8/18
Today started chilly but I was prepared this time. I had my wool socks and toe covers on. There wasn't moisture in the air like yesterday. We started at 8:00 by riding on the outskirts of Austin through neighborhoods. We crossed the Colorado River on a pedestrian bridge. As we got across we ran into a 10k race that blocked our route. We maneuvered through the runners and then dropped into the center of downtown Austin. It was actually nice riding in the city. There were bike paths and drivers respected your space. We stopped at a coffee shop and enjoyed a latte and some warmth. It was a very busy place and there seemed to be a lot coffee shops around. The first SAG was at 18 miles right there in the city. We then took a bike path that lead us out towards Bastrop, TX. We rode on some rural type roads and some busier roads with high traffic. I finished off the 54 mile day at 2:00.
Total Miles: 1734
Flats: 3
Ruined Tires: 1
