El Paso, TX to Sierra Blanca, TX

3/26/18
The 86 mile day was a breeze! By that I mean we had a great tailwind.  We left El paso at 7:00. The morning was about 50 degrees with the threat of rain. The first 30 miles flew by fast.  The dogs were out today though. Chasing me down the road threatening to bite me.
The roads were nice and there was light traffic to start. The road then turned to a big chipped road. The kind that sends a hand numbing vibration up through the handlebars. We then took some back country roads.  The ones that make you feel like you are in the middle of no where.  At mile 66 we had to ride on Interstate 10 for 2 miles.  We had a 12 mile incline after that. We changed direction again and had a tailwind that helped me ride 20 mph for the last 8 miles into Sierra Blanca.
We had SAG stops at 20, 40 and 60 miles.  The temperature never got above 68 degrees.  It was perfect riding weather! We beat the rain again! I arrived at the motel shortly after 1.
